MILLIE’S MARVELOUS MUD PUDDLE PLAN

Millie hankered to splash through the spring puddles that polka-dotted the farm.

But Mama always said, “No.”

So, Millie hatched a plan.

She made a sign.

MUD BEAUTY TREATMENTS

                FASHALS

              FOOT SOAK

              MUD BATH

   She arranged chairs near one puddle. 

   She put towels beside another.          

   She waited for customers.

And waited.

Finally, Annabelle’s pick-up skidded up. “Beauty Treatments! I’ll take one of everything.”

   Once Annabelle spread the word, business boomed. 

Until Mama noticed. “What’s going on here?”

  Millie pointed to her sign.  

Mama sent everyone packing, then slumped into a chair. “Millie, you tucker me out.”

“I’m sorry.”  Millie slipped Mama’s sneaker off and plunked her foot into the puddle.  “Here, cool your feet.”

“Mmmmmm,” Mama said.

 “That mud bath feels nice all over,” Millie said.

“Hmmmm,” Mama said.

Millie hankered to splash through the spring puddles that polka-dotted the farm.
